About the Rural Services Network

The Rural Services Network (RSN) is a membership body with over 500 organisations all with an interest in delivering services in rural areas. RSN is the national champion for rural services, dedicated to championing the rights, needs, and potential of rural communities across England. Our mission is to ensure equitable access to services, resources, and opportunities for all rural residents, thereby strengthening and sustaining the vibrancy of rural areas. Through advocacy, collaboration, and targeted support, we strive to influence policy, facilitate development, and empower rural communities to thrive.

Meet RSN Chief Executive, Kerry Booth

Kerry Booth is the Chief Executive of the Rural Service Network, having stepped into this leadership role in 2023 after almost a decade of dedicated service within the organisation. Known for her strategic acumen and exceptional communication skills, Kerry effectively engages with various audiences, advocating persuasively on behalf of rural service providers. Her profound understanding of the unique challenges faced by services in rural areas positions her as a pivotal figure in this sector.

Prior to her current role, Kerry's career spanned ten years in Local Government, starting with the National Graduate Development Programme. She earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Local Government Management from Warwick Business School during this period. Kerry held several positions within rural local authorities, culminating in her leadership of the Policy, Performance, and Improvement Team across two shared rural local authorities for five years. This role involved significant coordination and leadership, enhancing service delivery and governance.

As Chief Executive, Kerry now leverages her extensive experience and strategic insights to champion the needs of rural communities, ensuring that they receive effective representation and the necessary resources to thrive. Her leadership is instrumental in driving the Rural Service Network's mission forward in a complex political landscape.

Winning the Rural Vote Campaign

The Rural Services Network, has put together a series of asks which we want to see all political parties adopt in their manifestos, particularly with an upcoming General Election.

The challenges rural communities face cannot be tackled in isolation, our communities need homes they can afford, with good jobs, connectivity to enable businesses to grow and access to public services that are fairly funded. Full details of our campaign can be found HERE.
